A Day Driving Through Wales

Starting at the bottom end of Wales and driving to the top - all in one day. Leave merry old England and head to the land of the Joneses, red dragons and mines.

A long bridge took us over the river Severn and into South Wales. I wanted it to be just like New South Wales, and it was like the coast - like Jamberoo and Kiama with rolling hills and green fields.

We drove past castles, very old crumbly ancient forts, beside babbling brooks, past woods and through the Brecon Beacons.

We saw mining villages, farms and slate towns.

It was a blustery day.

...but the farms were so pretty...

The town of Betws-y-coed was a special place for Richard to revisit. The place was bustly and touristy - all with good reason. The whole area is surrounded by a gluttony of natural beauty and special places to relax and appreciate.
The day ended with Great Orme's Head and the Light House. This place was featured on "Coast" and is more spectacular  in real life than can ever be portrayed on the little screen. We are staying in the Light House.
