A Day in Vienna

Everything that we wanted to see in Vienna was within walking distance. The boarding house declined to provide breakfast as there are so many nice eating places around the corner. It is theViennese equivalent of staying at the Rocks.
The day was warm and we walked to the art centre of Vienna. The old buildings loomed large everywhere. The exhibition of Durer was entrancing and we could have spent many days there, but had to suffice with an hour or two only. The foyer was a work of art in itself.
Sculpted gardens graced the centre of the city. The fragrance of the trees scented our every step.
We dined al freso on Vienna Schnitzel and Torte.
Giselle at the Opera House was the days' finale. Again we were able to walk and were  there in less than half an hour.
The foyer was magical and the interior of the opera house was magnificent. We were perched half way up, like the muppet men, and had a spectacular view of the ballet.

The rich culture and beauty of this city will be hard to beat.

  2. Sounds delightful. Hope you weren't as rude as the muppet men!
