My last day at work for two months. My workmates are not amused. They (well....one) has threatened to lock me in a cupboard and steal my tix (as they say in the trade). He was put off when he was reminded that he would have to bunk in with Richard.
Bitter-sweet for me...I would like to teach the lessons prepared, will miss the kids, will miss my family. It is such a long time away. Sometimes a weekend away can seem like a lifetime.
We have family nights on Wednesdays and last night was especially enjoyable. We went to mum and dad's for dinner. Dad made soup and a baked dinner. Superb! I will miss that for the next two months. We have such fun doing the quiz (from the weekend local paper). We break into song at any opportunity and laugh in between. Poor Patrick (the reader) has to put up with many interruptions and the quiz can take up to an hour to complete. Some questions are fascinating, others weird and one or two are just obscure. Who really knows or cares about the host of Survivor?
Our weekly ritual of going for a Thursday afternoon cuppa will be our last for a while today. The weekend walk will be replaced by walks through forests and strange new towns. Church attendance will be different. Who knows where we may end up?
Out of rut and routine will be a challenge, and I think that I may just be up to it.

  2. I really don't think you are going to miss any of those things too much! Didn't get to see you on your last day at work. Have an absolutely fantastic time. Will be following your adventure and look forward to hearing more stories and lots of photos when you get back. x Kathryn

  3. Hi Kerrie,

Time to look forward to the new challenges. Your life will be waiting for you back in Shell Harbour.

I had another thought - buy and wear a pair of flight socks, available at pharmacies. Scholl make them.

    Happy travels,

    Ros
