Call to Prayer

Calculations so far = 21 hours awake ( waiting for alarm to go off in Sydney, flight to Dubai and getting to guesthouse, getting money and getting lost and getting dinner).
11 hours to rest. Set alarm? No... The early morning call to prayer will save me setting my inner alarm clock.

Dubai is covered. Dust and heat , all pervasive and kept at bay by coverings of all types. Thick walled buildings, canopies, veils and turbans, flowing white sheik cotton, crisp and clean, tarpaulins and plastic. Black for the women, white for the men, and underlying comment not quite heard yet.

Tall spires punctuate the horizon, sand castles in the sky.the men lounge on their barrows in the afternoon heat, rustling only to rally to the call to prayer.
The white men spill from the doors and don sandals, then congregate and talk. Around the back the black women exit the wooden doors and chatter...the comment louder.

The prayer room in there (points to room in guesthouse). What time plus you like breakfast?
Still stuffed up and achy and heady, not sure if the inner alarm will ring...but the call to prayer will awaken me. Am aware that the discipline shown around here is chastening me. My prayer is dulled and random, opportunistic and impulsive. Heard, I know...the great high priest intercedes...have been reminded lately- sermonwise. Heard and now I hear more clearly the call to prayer.
